The Hearing Voices Network was inspired by the research of Prof Marius Romme and Sandra Escher, authors of “Making Sense of Voices” and “Accepting Voices”. We provide research information and support for people that hear voices. Our members are made up of voice hearers, family and friends , caregivers and mental health professionals. We welcome all views on hearing voices, spiritual, shamanic, different types of consciousness and encourage people to learn and explore the meaning of their voices.
In New Zealand we are called “Hearing Voices Network Aotearoa NZ” and are a registered indepenedent charity. We hold a support group every fortnight, on a Wednesday evening at in Henderson, Auckland. There is also a support group in Palmerston North held on the first Friday of every month. See the Support group page. We also have a free email list, where we send information about hearing voices network related events and news items of interest. If you would like to be added to our email list, to become a member of our society or require more information about the network please contact us at hearingvoices@woosh.co.nz
